We realize projects for private and business customers, including solar panels, heat pumps, EV charging stations, home batteries, air conditioning, and central heating systems. With professional installation teams from the Netherlands and abroad, we ensure safe, reliable, and future-proof energy systems.
The Role
As a Solar Panel Installer & Technician, you are responsible for installing and maintaining solar PV systems at residential and commercial sites. You will work in two-person teams and receive support from our head office and technical department.
Tasks:
- Install rooftop and ground-mounted solar panels
- Mount and connect inverters, cabling, and safety equipment
- Perform fuse box (meter board) adaptations where needed
- Carry out roof work safely, including scaffolding and fall protection
- Troubleshoot and repair PV systems if required
- Document installations, safety checks, and commissioning reports
- Provide professional, customer-focused service
- Work according to Dutch and European safety standards
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in installing solar PV systems (rooftop or commercial)
- Understanding of DC/AC systems, inverters, and fuse box adaptations
- Comfortable working at heights with proper safety measures
- Team player who is accurate and solution-oriented
- Flexible and motivated, with an interest in renewable energy
Multi-Skilled Teams
At Roke, we are specifically looking for multi-skilled installation teams. While your main focus will be on solar panel installations, we highly value teams that:
- Already have experience with multiple systems such as home batteries, heat pumps, air conditioning, EV charging stations, or central heating (boilers)
- Or are open to learning these additional skills with full training and certification provided by Roke
This multi-skilled approach ensures that our teams can work on a wide variety of sustainable installations, guaranteeing continuous projects year-round and offering strong professional growth.
Qualifications & Certificates (International)
We recruit many installers from Slovakia and other EU countries. Not all Dutch certifications are required at the start – Roke provides training and guidance to obtain them.
Required upon start
- Technical background in electrical engineering or construction (minimum MBO level 3/4 or equivalent in Slovakia)
- Experience working safely at heights
- Driving license B
- At least one team member per duo speaks fluent English
Required in the Netherlands (Roke provides support if not yet obtained)
- VCA Basic / VCA VOL (safety certificate for working in the Netherlands)
- NEN3140 (competent person for low-voltage installations)
- NEN1010 knowledge (safety requirements for PV and electrical connections)
- Working at heights certificate (mandatory for rooftop solar installations)
- Battery storage training (preferred for combined solar + battery systems)
Contract & Administration
- Work as an independent subcontractor (self-employed / ZZP) based on valid A1 documentation
- Fixed daily allowance plus high bonuses per installation and service visit
- Standard work rotation: 3 weeks in the Netherlands, followed by 1 week at home in your home country.
